as June Carter
Jodie comes from a family with a
long history in the music and theatre
industry. Her Mum was a dancer
who performed in a number of west
end shows and her Dad was a well
respected singer on the British country
music scene who recorded several
albums with his band, Shiloh. Her brother
is a session guitarist in Nashville and her sister is a songwriter living in Australia.
Jodie’s biggest passion is her own songwriting, with which she has gained a large following of listeners on the UK songwriter’s circuit. She met Rick in 1997 and the two began working together, eventually forming the duo, Pure Country, which became extremely popular and led to the release of 4 albums in the early 2000’s. She plays acoustic guitar and also played bass guitar in Rick’s Garth Brooks tribute show, The Thunder Rolls. Jodie’s portrayal of June Carter is a heartfelt and respectful one, highlighting the often overlooked talents of a lady who was an integral part of the most important family in country music history.
